Introduction:-8 channel IR TRANSMITTER (remote) using cd4017
It works very well despite being a non microcontroller based project and I am very happy to have succeeded in this experiment.  This is a remote control light project. You can use it to turn off and on the 8light by remote controlling.  This project is shown with 8 channels, but it is possible to add more than 70 channels if desired.  In this project there are two circuits one transmitter and the other receiver and in these two circuits bc547,bc557,cd 4017,555 timer ic are used.

Basic working in this project

Receiver
In this circuit, two main components of wireless transmission are an IR LED which is used for the transmitter and the other IR RECEIVER MODULE which is used for the receiver.
Eight relays are used in this project and a latch circuit is added to each relay to keep each relay ON and OFF for a long period of time. This latch circuit has two inputs, one is data in and the other is latch enable. This latch enable input is disabled in the first state. TTL CONTROLLER when the signal comes to the receiver through the transmitter, this latch enable input is enabled for some time and then returns to the previous disabled state. The data in input of the latch circuit is connected to the output of the cd 4017 IC.Each output of this IC is connected to the data input of a latch circuit. The clock input of this IC is connected to the OUT PUT of the IR RECEIVER MODULE and the RESET INPUT is connected to the TTL CONTROLLER. Here the cd 4017 Ic is in the reset condition in the first state, when the signal comes from the transmitter, this IC is in the normal condition, when the transmission is completed, it returns to the previous state.

transmitter
This transmitter is wireless and works very easily.  Here IR LED is used for wireless communication of electrical signals as it converts electrical signals into infrared radiation.  In contrast, the IR receiver module receives infrared radiation and converts it into an electrical signal.  So using these two sensors it is possible to make transmitter and receiver very easily.  In this receiver project three ic are used two 555 timer ic and one cd 4017 counter ic are used also transistors are used for controlling these (TTL).  Here one 555 timer IC to generate carrier signal and another to generate pulse signal, and cd 4017 for keyboard pulse counting.  For example - when you press any key of the transmitter, suppose you press 4no key, then 4 pulses with carrier signals from the transmitter will be sent by IR LED.
